Diaper Rash Remedy
One of the first things to do when your baby has a bad diaper rash is to allow them as much diaper-free time as possible. Drying out the area is key to fighting bacteria and yeast. If you don't have time between every diaper to let them hang out then use a blow dryer to dry the area. We used to hold Eliana in front of the space heater and she loved the warm feeling on her bum. Just make sure they don't get hold of the cord or the blow dryer.

Attack the Diaper Rash from Multiple Angles
- Clean and soothe the diaper area using cotton balls and Jojoba or Olive Oil. Wipes are too irritating to the area at this point.
- If there are open sore areas apply a layer of Bacitracin to kill any bacteria. Apply until sore areas heal.
- Over this apply a layer of Lotrimen. This kills off any fungus (like yeast) that's found a cozy home in your baby's diaper. Apply until diaper rash goes away.
- Over the entire area apply a thick layer of a Zinc-based cream such as Triple Paste, to create a barrier. Once rash is gone you can use this cream every day or switch back to one of the natural ones found in my blog post, here.
